people are saying it should...........because some people are getting to addicted to it..........and it's getting to the fact that teenagers rather be on myspace than do stuff like homework and stuff that r way more important that myspace..........

No. It is the responsibility of parents to restrict and control what their children are doing during homework time. Also, teenagers and adults need to learn self-control. If they can't control the time they spend on MySpace, how will they ever be able to control anything else in their life? In my opinion, people who are "addicted" to MySpace are people who would be addicted to something else if MySpace wasn't available - like drugs, alcohol, food, sex, etc. These people are trying to fill a void in their life, and by taking away MySpace, they will simply fill that void with something else.

Why should the people who use MySpace to connect with old friends, and/or use it wisely and within reason be punished because people cannot control themselves and/or parents don't monitor what their children are doing?

MySpace, in the hands of responsible people, is fine.

If people enjoy selling themselves on the internet and supposedly "meeting" new people then let them be... I used to have a page on there but got addicted and found myself on myspace more than on my own life!!!! TERMINATE IT.. MAKE IT EXTINCT.... Do whatever they want with it but just keep it away from me!!!

nope, i don't think terminating myspace would solve the problem of people procrastinating, people being irresponsible, people not setting priorities in life, etc. if myspace were terminated, does that mean yahoo answers should be terminated too? Instant messaging? the internet? tv? i mean, really, where would it stop?? people need temptations to gain responsibility.

yeah and that the whole internet should be banned cos it is bad, and we should ban electricity just to be on the safe side, because it might give you cancer, and then we should just stay in our caves all day so the woolie mammoths don't eat us

NO...i dont think it should be terminated....I think some parents should be more aware of what there kids are doing.....They shouldnt let there 10,11,12,13 year old kids and so on spend hours at a time on the computer when they know that there is homework to be done...I think they have done the right thing in schools blocking it because thats not the place to be checking your messages at...and in a world of cell phones and blackburrys thats one less thing we need.....It's not myspace's fault that kids are choosing to be on it hours at a time.....its something that needs to be regulated by these kids parents....they need to be more aware.

Well if Myspace should be terminated then so should Yahoo Answers, Amusement Parks, Cell phones, friends, movie theaters,etc., because so many people are addicted to these things as well and shirk chores and homework because of them. What do you think?

No i don't think it should be terminated because it is not the website that is not making kids do their homework it is the child not making enough time to do both! Parents should monitor their children and make sure they are doing their homework before they play on the computer.

all users of myspace sign a terms of agreement statement that says, "MySpace.com is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any User of the Services."

if a person who is "addicted" to myspace hasn't agreed to the contract, then myspace still can't be held accountable. myspace is no more distracting and addictive than yahoo answers, google, wikipedia, bored.com, or any other website. myspace should not be singled out for punishment because a few people have a low attention span and lack a sense of responsibility.
