My dad is a controled freak when it comes to myspace.....I told him I won't talk to strangers. And I won't add any one I don't know. He told me that's asking to be kidnapped! plz help...what should I say to convince him to let me on!! I wuz so desperate to have one, so my friend made me one @ her house.

Your dad obviously misunderstands myspace. You need to take both him and you to the site at the same time so you can demonstrate to him that there are numerous levels of privacy control features. You can set your profile to 'private' mode and only people you approve as friends can view your profile that way.
Also, for more details, myspace has an FAQ link @ the bottom of every page on their website. Just click that and there'll be a detailed explanation somewhere in there for confused or skeptical parents !! =)

You can make your myspace page private, and you can also make it to where they have to know your last name or email address to try to add you. Also, if someone gets abusive in the way they talk to you on there, you can block them. Honestly, tis saver than having any other kind of messanger or email on the internet!

Myspace is awesome. Everyone at school has one. and I am 14 years old. But my dad never has let me keep one because the daughter of his co-worker got visited by FBI because she put a picture of Bush Dying. I acutally do have a myspace and a very popular complete one. My dad doesn't know though. My mom does but she doesn't care. I guess you could make one at your house but its awesome if the computer is in you room. My dad is the same don;t worry they never find out.

if your dad said no then the answer is no! dont do it! however! to persaude your dad here are some feautures of myspace....if you are under the age of 18 your page is automatically set to privacy....if you are over 18 you have the option to.....i suggest setting it to privacy and then changing your age to like 85 so no one will bother you. when it is on privacy only your friends can see your page...what is veiwed by the public is you age first name and where you are from....we went over age....you can set where you are from to any city any where....so pick somthing random...if you wish. no one can even ask you to be your friend unless they know your name or e-mail address....the same goes for messaging and good luck!

Okay, tell your dad that it's the new day in age. Everyone has one, you can control it. You can avoid talking to people. Under the settings you can move your profile to private. Where no one but your friends can see it. And tell him that you won't give your full real name. Or you can just be a smart @$S with him and say that you don't care what he says, you're still going to get on and there's nothing in the world that he can do to stop you. Really, he can't. Computers are EVERYWHERE!

at first my parents wouldn't let me either. but we made a deal. I can now have one, but my parents know my password. They can get on at anytime and look at my friends and all of that. My profile also has to be set on private. Also let him know that your other friends have them and they haven't been kidnapped.
